An FDA-cleared breakthrough technology, SureTouch is a safe, reliable breast examination that enables all areas of the breast to be examined while offering immediate digitized results for you and your doctor.

Inspired by his mother’s battle with breast cancer, Dr. Jae Son, an entrepreneur and inventor with an Engineering Sciences Ph.D. from Harvard University, founded Medical Tactile in 2002 with the mission of delivering more accurate breast examinations without pain or radiation at lower cost using SureTouch.

SureTouch is an FDA-cleared (FDA #K010514) medical device utilizing proprietary tactile imaging technology that is a culmination of 17 licensed and owned patents, five NIH SBIRs grants and internal R&D executed by MTI and collaborators since 1992.

SureTouch has been put to the test in numerous clinical studies and thousands of women have received SureTouch exams. A summary of published clinical studies using SureTouch in more than 1,000 patients was presented at the 2014 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS).

Cary Kaufman, M.D., past President of the National Consortium of Breast Centers and Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Washington, led the team that reviewed clinical data demonstrating that SureTouch not only is more sensitive in detecting breast masses when compared with the manual clinical breast exams but also identifies breast cancer with similar sensitivity and specificity compared with standard imaging modalities such as mammography and ultrasound.
